Put your skills into practice through an interactive, case-based simulation designed for practicing forensic nurses
Participants will work through an adolescent sexual assault scenario from initial patient presentation through discharge. The training provides hands-on opportunities to practice history taking, evidence collection, injury documentation and photography while navigating the clinical and legal considerations that arise when caring for a minor.
Facilitated discussion will address consent and assent, parent and guardian involvement, confidentiality, mandated reporting, medication considerations, advocacy, safety planning, and follow-up care. Participants will explore the unique considerations involved in caring for adolescent patients, compare practices and protocols, ask questions, and strengthen their skills in a supportive simulation environment.
